KINGS OF PERGAMON. Attalos I 241-197 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver 32.5 mm 17.00 g 12 h) struck in the name and with the portrait of Philetairos founder of the kingdom. Diademed head of Philetairos to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΕΤΑΙΡΟΥ Athena seated to left on backless throne holding by the edge with her right hand a shield adorned with a gorgoneion with her spear held downwards under her left shoulder below her extended arm A ivy leaf on the outer left field and bow in the outer right field. SNG von Aulock 1356. Westermark Group IV.A ( but these dies apparently unlisted ). Test cut on the obverse otherwise good very fine. From the CG Collection.
