ATTICA, Athens. Circa 165-42 BC. AR Tetradrachm (30.5mm, 16.42 g, 12h). New Style coinage. Herakleides, Eukles–, and Dionysog–, magistrates. Struck 106/5 BC. Helmeted head of Athena Parthenos right / Owl standing right on amphora, head facing; magistrates’ names in fields; in right field, winged Tyche standing left, holding uncertain object over amphora and cradling cornucopia; B on amphora, ME below; all within wreath. Cf. Thompson 745–57 (unlisted longer third magistrate name); HGC 4, 1602. Roughness, corrosion, struck with worn obverse die. VF.
