Description
THESSALY. Larissa. AR Drachm (6.20 gms), ca. 404-370 B.C. NGC Ch EF, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 2/5. Die Shift, Brushed, Scratches.
HGC-4, 430. Obverse: Head of the nymph Larissa facing slightly right, with hair in ampyx; Reverse: Horse grazing right. A solid representative of the type with a great representation of the famed 3/4 portrait design. The flaws noted on the holder are limited to the reverse, but even this side remains highly satisfying due to the quality of the strike and fully readable civic legend.
