Gold Solidus, AD 378-383. Uncertain North Italian mint (Mediolanum?).
Obv: D N VALENTINIANVS P F AVG, pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right. Rev: VICTORIA AVGG, two nimbate emperors with legs draped, seated facing on throne, one on right holding mappa and holding globe between the two; Victory behind, palm branch below, COM in exergue.
Extremely Fine; some roughness to portrait and some minor scrapes, otherwise an attractive example, lustrous and well-struck.
