Roman Empire, Leo I (AD 457-474), AV Solidus, Constantinople, 5th Officina, struck c. 462-466, D N LEO PERPET AVG, helmeted, diademed and cuirassed bust facing, holding spear with right hand over shoulder and shield, ornamented with horseman spearing fallen foe, over left shoulder, rev. VICTORIA AVGGG E, Victoria standing left, holding long jewelled cross in right hand, star to right field, CONOB in exergue, 4.48g (Depeyrot 93/1; RIC 605), softened portrait, very fine, given ‘no decision’ by NGC, and hence not slabbed, (Cert. #8536725-007)
