- Design: Pearl-diademed, helmeted, and cuirassed bust of Leo I facing slightly to the right, holding a spear and shield decorated with a horseman motif.
- Legend: D N LEO PERPET AVG (Dominus Noster Leo Perpetuus Augustus)
Reverse:
- Design: Victory standing to the left, holding a long jewelled cross, with a star in the right field.
- Legend: VICTORIA AVGGG TH (Victory of the three Augusti)
- Exergue: CONOB (indicating the Constantinople mint)
Condition:
- Surface: Some flattening to higher points, but the coin remains perfectly centred and residually lustrous.
