HONORIUS, A.D. 393-423. AV Solidus (4.46 gms), Constantinople Mint, ca. A.D. 397-402. NGC EF, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 2/5. Edge Bends, Punch Mark.
RIC-8; Depeyrot-55/2. Obverse: Pearl-diademed, helmeted, and cuirassed bust facing slightly right, holding spear over shoulder and shield decorated with horseman motif; Reverse: Constantinopolis, with head right and holding scepter and victoriola, seated facing on throne; CONOB. A lovely full-weight solidus with minimal, even wear and only a tiny punch to the right of the bust.
