Ancient Egyptian Large Limestone Mask from an Anthropoid Sarcophagus Late Period to Ptolemaic Period, 664-30 B.C. Size Height 17 inches (43.2 cm). Width 16 inches. Large carved limestone sarcophagus fragment depicting a face with large eyes and ears. Late period c.664-30 BC. A large and attractive sculpture. Provenance: Ex Kathryn Albert, New Jersey collection, Stephen Joel Albert (6 February 1941–27 December 1992), New York; thence by descent. [Inv. no. 5581] Ex Hindman.ConditionEncrustations, weathering, chips, and gouges consistent with age. Dark patination in areas. Overall in fine and stable condition. See additional images.
