THEODOSIUS II, A.D. 402-450. AV Solidus (4.32 gms), Constantinople Mint, ca. A.D. 441-450. NGC Ch EF, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 2/5. Clipped, Marks, Graffiti.
RIC-293; Depeyrot-84/1. Obverse: Pearl-diademed, helmeted, and cuirassed bust facing slightly right, holding spear over shoulder and shield decorated with horseman motif; Reverse: Constantinopolis seated left on throne, with foot on prow, holding globus cruciger and scepter; star to left. Rather sharply detailed with the noted issues being minor and unintrusive.
